Geocache Description:

Limpet - Why Limpet?

Well due to the rich naval history of the area I thought it an idea to place a related cache here. Well almost related.

A lot of the information about the area can be found on other sites such as http://www.historicmedway.co.uk/chatham/stmarysisland.htm.

Two approaches can be taken, the first will require specialist craft and equipment and will be great fun to try. The second is a little more conventional by foot, but will require some extra suppleness.

Once you arrive at GZ take care not to create a splash. you are looking for a "TRI" nano in a black limpet. As with the mines of the same name you will need patience, dexterity and the right tools to get to the log.

Remember that this area is open to the public and can be seen from a distance. This is not a muggle free zone.

The water is cold and deep so ensure that care is taken and appropriate clothing and safety equipment is warn dependant on the approach taken. Only you know your capabilities so stay within them.

Stay safe and enjoy.
