D1 Mission Mystery Cache

RISKIERE NIE ZUVIEL: DU KÖNNTEST GESEHEN WERDEN ------ NEVER RISK TOO MUCH: YOU COULD BE WATCHED

Die D1 Mission war eine der bekanntesten und erfolgreichsten „Storys“ in der Geschichte der Raumfahrt. Unter den 8 Besatzungsmitgliedern waren auch 2 deutsche Teilnehmer, die im europäischen Weltraumlabor Forschungen durchführten, die die Physik, Biologie, Medizin und Navigation betrafen. Neben den USA spielte auch Bayern eine wichtige Rolle als Kontrollzentrum. Scherzhaft sprach man vom „Bayerischen Houston“. Die deutschen Astronauten und auch der holländische Teilnehmer wurden damals für ihre Leistungen mit dem „Bundesverdienstkreuz erster Klasse“ ausgezeichnet.

Da ich kurzfristig kein Ticket in den Orbit buchen konnte, mußte ich den cache "hier auf Erden" deponieren. Das ist an einem Ort geschehen, in dessen unmittelbarer Umgebung man Dinge erstehen kann, die einem Ideen für den Bau eigener "kleiner Raketen" kommen lassen können, wenn man kreativ ist.

The D1 mission was one of the best known and most successful "stories" in the history of the astronautics. Among 8 crew members were also 2 German participants who carried out in the European spacelab researches which concerned physics, biology, medicine and navigation. Beside the USA Bavaria also played an important role as a controlling centre. Jokingly one spoke of „Bavarian Houston“. At that time the German astronauts and also the Dutch participant were distinguished for her achievements with the “Bundesverdienstkreuz erster Klasse.

As I couldn't book a ticket in the orbit immediately, i had to deposit the cache "here on earth". This happened at a place, in which immediate surroundings one can buy things which can give you ideas for the construction of your own "small rockets", if you think creative.
