D. Manuel I mandou edificar a igreja, dedicada a Santo André, da primitiva construção desse templo pouco resta e da última grande reconstrução efectuada em 1909 foi-nos deixada a talha barroca setecentista, a pia baptismal do séc. XVI e as seis gárgulas com formas de animais que guarnecem os flancos do templo.
Santo André foi um apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, padroeiro de muitas igrejas em Portugal.

D. Manuel I ordered the construction of this church, dedicated to St. Andrew. Only a small part of this church comes from the original construction and from the last major reconstruction, carried out in 1909, were left the eighteenth-century baroque carving, the font of the sixteenth-century and the six gargoyles (with animals forms) that line the sides of this temple.
St. Andrew was an apostle of Jesus Christ and a patron saint of many churches in Portugal.

O Pelourinho foi construído em 1514, é por isso um monumento quinhentista. No topo sobressaem as armas dos D. Abades de Alcobaça e a esfera dos descobrimentos.

The Pillory was built is 1514 and is therefore a sixteenth-century monument. At the top it is possible to see the arms of the Abbots of Alcobaça, as well as the sphere of discoveries. 

É um dos símbolos do poder municipal mais simples dos Coutos de Alcobaça, sendo constituído por um cilíndrico liso, assente sobre três degraus circulares.

It is one of the simplest municipal power symbols from the Coutos of Alcobaça, consisting in a smooth cylinder, based on three circular steps.
