Lunch:
Plates,
plastic ware and napkins will be provided. If you would like to
join in, please bring your own entree and drinks, plus a dish to
share. If your last name begins with A-R, bring a side dish. If
your last name begins with S-Z, bring a dessert. The shelter has
limited electricity and we will provide a couple of power strips,
so crock pots should not be a problem.
Activities:
Closest to

after lunch.
A
get-to-know-your-neighbor "Meet & Greet" game will be
available. Once your sheet is filled, turn it in for an opportunity
to win a prize!
SpiderMilo's Activity Zone will be set up with a few crafts
for the kids, but will be unsupervised. There is also a playground
VERY near the shelter. Please keep an eye on your little ones in
these areas!
We will raffle and/or auction off a few
select items, and door prizes will be offered throughout the day.
We encourage everyone to bring a door prize donation if possible.
All donations are GREATLY
appreciated.

Camping:
The
picnic hosts will be camping at Prophetstown, a short walk from the
shelter. Camping reservations may be made through the INDNR online
reservation system or by calling the park. A map of the campground
will be uploaded to this cache page indicating where folks are
camping. If you reserve a site, please be sure to let us know which
one and we'll add you to the map. You may post your site number
here as a log note or under the 2011 Spring Picnic thread in the
Midwest Forums. There are also many fine hotels located in nearby
Lafayette.
Note to
tent campers: To preserve the grasslands when tent camping at
Prophetstown, your tent must be set up on the crushed gravel pad
(not in the grass). It is advised that you use metal stakes as
opposed to
plastic.
