Geocache Description:

Kitheronas Summit (Alt. 1405m)

Kitheronas

KITHERONAS MOUNTAIN is located at the North-Western edge of Attica, on the boundaries with the Prefecture of Boeotia and rises steeply on 1409 meters at its highest top (Prophet Elias or Elatia). In ancient times it was called Asterios or Asterion, the name of the hero killed by Tisifoni, one of the Erinnyes. Later on it was given the name Kitheron, probably from the homonymous king of Platees.

How to get there

You can drive to the top of the mountain where lies an abandoned military base in an asfalt road in good condition but carefully because it is very narrow. Park at the entrance of the military base and walk on the summit where from the one side you will have a breathtaking view over Corinthian gulf and from the other side over the valley of Platees.
The Cache

It is a plastic lock&lock tupper that contain logbook, pencil and stash note that we please to not remove, some trade items and an FTF award for the first finder. You can see it with his initial contents HERE.

To find the cache is very easy. Just read the hint.
Have fun and enjoy the view!!
