Ermida de Santa Clara Esta é a mais antiga das ermidas
circundantes da Vidigueira. A sua construção data de 1555, por
ordem do 2º conde da Vidigueira, D. Francisco da Gama, e a sua
mulher D. Guiomar de Vilhena.
Edifício rectangular, coroado de ameias e com contrafortes
terminados em pináculos em forma de cone tuncado. O estilo da
construção está associado ao período manuelino com influências do
gótico normando. Esta poderá ter sido a primeira igreja matriz da
vila, facto que não está comprovado.
Foi em tempos um local de festas e romarias muito apreciado pelo
povo da terra. O caminho que conduz à ermida está envolto em vinhas
e oliveiras antigas. Do monte onde fica a singela ermida,
vislumbra-se uma paisagem que se estende até à Vidigueira.

Chapel of Santa Clara This is the oldest of the chapels surrounding
Vidígueira. The construction date of 1555, by order of the 2nd Earl

Rectangular building, crowned with battlements and pinnacles with
buttresses ending in cone-shaped tunc. The style of construction is
associated with the period Manueline Norman Gothic influences. This
may have been the first church of the village, which has not been
proven.
It was once a place of festivals and processions much appreciated
by the people of the earth. The path leading to the chapel is
shrouded in vines and ancient olive trees. Hill where is the simple
chapel, visitors can enjoy a landscape that stretches to the
Vidigueira.
