Geocache Description:

When I was at my mechanic getting some tires and an oil change I was wandering around the parking lot and couldn't help but notice the rusty old beater tucked back in the corner. I asked the guys at the shop about it and all at the same time 3 men stated that it is officially the ugliest car in America. I instantly wanted to make it a geocache!

In 2009 AARP held a contest for the ugliest car in America. Hundreds of cars were submitted and only a few were selected as finalists. The cars were all posted on line with descriptions and photos for voting. This car won hands down. Believe it or not the car still runs though it has been permanently retired since the former owner got a brand new car for winning the contest. So here it sits, getting rustier and uglier by the day.

The owner of the shop has given full permission to place this cache but there are some requirements:

Please only seek this cache during daylight hours. You can pull your car into the business parking lot and access the cache without having to talk with anyone at the shop. If you would like more of the back story of the car feel free to ask, they enjoy talking about it!

The cache container itself is simply sitting under the hood. We were going to put it inside the car but for now it is a large Tupperware container under the car.

Please don't park in the driveways of the houses in front of the shop, people live there, just pull to the back and park in the lot.

Have fun and take photos with the car if you would like. This is one of those caches that you don't have to worry about muggles or be sneaky, take your time and enjoy it.

Congrats to Serevanth for the FTF, inking the log in under 10 minutes from publishing!

Update: Most of the shop employees are now cachers, making this a very friendly cache site. No need to be worried or embarrassed to come by and find this one. Yes the shop will be open but they like seeing new people come by and find the cache. It is because of all of you that they have been getting into the hobby, I love converting muggles to cachers!!!
