Geocache Description:

The Athens Conservatoire (Greek: Ωδείο Αθηνών) is the oldest conservatoire in modern Greece. It was founded in 1871 by the Athens Music and Drama Society.

Among the musicians who have taught at the Athens Consevatoire are Manolis Kalomiris, Elvira de Hidalgo, & Yannos Margaziotis. Notables who were taught at Athens Consevatoire Spyridon Samaras (1875–1882), Maria Callas (1938), Dimitri Mitropoulos (1919), Gina Bachauer, Nana Mouskouri & Mikis Theodorakis.Initially, the musical instruments that were taught there were limited to the violin and the flute, representative of the ancient Greek Apollonian and Dionysian aesthetic principles. Piano lessons were not included in the program.
In 1881 its new German-taught director Georgios Nazos, in a controversial at that time move, expanded the conservatoire's program by introducing modern Western European-style instruments and theory material.

The cache is placed at the Conservatoire's yard. The building is just stunning. Please be careful, do not draw muggles or curious police officer's attention. Intentionally it is in pretty plain sight, it won't take you long. Please rehide well!!!!
It is a plastic box, a cylinder. Contains logbook, Geocaching declaration sheet, a gypsum rock from Lavrion, a Canadian coin, a lucky charm for your keys and of course pencil and sharpener.
Please help me keep the bigger the better urban caches by rehiding them well. Hear the beautiful music, visit the national contemporary art museum on the ground floor, see young breakdancers practicing, walk your dog and take a picture with Dimitris Mitropoulos's bust, one of the greatest conductors of all time. Check out if there's any free concerts upstairs for the day, or even start learning music yourself. It's good for you!! Enjoy the caching experience!
