There is NO prize for the FTF, no feel good 'AHA' moment; only the
SHAME of having no self control when it comes to geocaching. There
is nothing special about the container. There is nothing special
about the location. There is no special “thrill of the
hunt” and no special feeling of accomplishment. In fact you
should feel a little soiled. It only proves that if you log it you
are addicted to Geocaching. You may have a problem and not even
know about it. If you can answer yes to any of the following
questions you should seek therapy for your addiction. But DO NOT
HUNT THIS CACHE!!!
~ Have you ever had an encounter
with an officer of the law at or near a cache sight?
~ Have you ever stuck your
finger or hand in someplace you know you shouldn't?
~ Have your last bodily injuries
occurred because of geocaching?
~Are you spending more on
gasoline because of geocaching?
~ Do you have more than 5 PAF's
programmed into your cell phone?
~ Do you know what acronyms like
PAF, TFTC, TNLNSL mean?
~ Do you have a special bag in
your car with geocaching related items in it?
~ Do you jump when you get a
text or email, thinking it could be a new cache?
~ Have you missed an important
event, been late to an appointment or left someplace early (or
caused somebody else to do so) because of
geocaching?
~ If your GPS was lost or broken
would you purchase a new one within 24 hours?
~ Do you drive by the location
of a find and think to yourself "There's a cache
there"?
~Have you NEVER said "It's too
(insert your adjective here) outside to cache
today"?
Prove that you are strong, and let this cache go. Though
it may haunt you every time you look at the local map, be strong.
Fight your addiction! You do not need this cache. You CAN let one
go.
We
know the signs of addiction, we know we are helplessly and
hopelessly in the clutches of geocaching. We wondered at 100 caches
found, worried a bit by 500 and thought there might be an issue at
1,000. By 2,000 we suspected we might not be able to quit and now
that we have reached 2,500 finds we know that we have made a
lifelong decision to geocache.
If
you choose to give into the temptation and hunt this cache, atone
for your weakness and share an example of how addicted you actually
are.
Please DO NOT post a log with only 'tftc', 'quick find' or
'sl' ~ we need to laugh at you!
Shame on Mike 463 for being so
weak he HAD to get the FTF. You should hang your head in
embarrassment! Of course, we would have done the exact same
thing!!
