Geocache Description:

Welcome to the King’s Cache mini series, created to honor the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. The first part of this mini series, Girl Scout Journey, is a lock and lock container hidden in the usual fashion. Parking is at the stated coordinates at the King St. Primary School. You will see the entrance to the trail. This container is hidden right on the trail, perfect for the smallest of scouts to find.

This one is for the GIRL’S ! The Girl Scouts of America, founded by Juliette Gordon Low, in 1912 in Savannah Georgia, is a program which originally sought to promote the social welfare of young women and was formed as counterpart to the Boy Scouts of America. The GSA use the scout method to build self-esteem and to teach values such as honesty, fairness, courage, compassion, character, sisterhood, confidence and citizenship through activities such as camping, community service, applying first aid and other practical skills. Girl Scout achievements are recognized through earning badges, rank advancement, and other special awards. From kindergarten Daisy, to Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador, or Juliette, girls lived by the GS promise, law, motto and slogan. The Promise: On my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the GS law. The Law: I will do my best to be Honest and Fair, Friendly and Helpful, Considerate and Caring, Courageous and Strong, and Responsible for what I say and do, and to Respect myself and others, and respect authority, use resources wisely, and to make the world a better place, and to be a sister to every GS. The Motto: Be prepared The Slogan: Do a good turn daily New girl scout interest projects are being developed every year. I am currently a silver award girl scout trying to earn my gold award. This mini series is part of the new Hi-tech Hide and Seek interest project. The trail is currently being improved upon by an Eagle Scout candidate from King St troop 52, Boy Scouts of America. I completed my Gold award in 8/2012
