This village church is mostly very early 13th century in date. It has a Norman tower, built in a circular form due to the lack of suitable facing stone (for the corners) to be found in Berkshire. It is one of only two round tower churches in the county and the church's font is said to be the finest in the county. To find the final cache you have to go to the waypoint listed in this cache.
Once there you need to locate the headstone of William Welch at the base of the tower. You will need to collect the following information to find the final cache.
William Welch - 19AB to 19CD
Use the following formula to workout the co-ordinates for the final cache. N51 28.BBB W001 27.DDD
You are looking for a screwtop container, painted green, aprox. 4 cm in diameter. Please return the cache as found for others to enjoy.
The GPS signal was hard to pinpoint so an average was taken. If you find it to be out by too much, please let me know and I shall adjust it.
Parking can be found on the main road at the entrance to the church. While in the area why don't you take a look at the Shefford Series?
If any body would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
