Lors d’une ballade le long de la cote, j’ai été surpris par un violent orage et j’ai trouvé refuge dans la cavité d’un grand rocher creux. Bien à l’abri, j’ai pu observer le feu d’artifice. J’ai d’abord vu tomber la foudre sur le sommet du Mont Cocani (altitude 219 m) et le bruit du tonnerre m'est parvenu après 9,92 secondes. Ensuite un éclair a frappé le sommet du Mont Capu d’Occi (altitude 563 m) suivit du grondement 9,70 secondes plus tard. Lorsque la pluie a cessé, je suis monté sur le « toit » du rocher creux et j’y ai déposé une boîte avec un calepin pour créer cette cache. Sachant que le son se déplace à une vitesse 340 mètres par seconde et que le rocher creux se trouve à une altitude de 15 mètres au dessus du niveau de la mer, vous pouvez calculer les coordonnées exactes de la cache.
During a walk along the coast, I was surprised by a violent storm and I found shelter in the cavity of a large hollow rock. From this place, I observed the firework. In a first time a lightning strike hit the summit of Cocani Mount (elevation 219 m) and the sound of thunder arrived after 9,92 seconds. Then lightning struck the summit of Mount Capu d'Occi (elevation 563 m) followed by the rumble 9,70 seconds later. When the rain stopped, I climbed on the "roof" of the hollow rock where I placed a Tupperware containing a logbook to create this cache.
