This place is the heart of modern Daugapvils. More than hundred years ago here was swamp, everything was full of moss and cranberries. And then the legendary mayor of Daugavpils city Pavel Dubrovin decided to build a park here. He bought this swampy land, presented it to the city and participated in planning the garden. Nowadays it is the largest park in Daugavpils with big fountain and shady trees. The park is always crowded, as everyone enjoys this gateway, where is so nice to hide from from town fewer. Pavel Dubrovin is one of the most significant persons in Daugavpils history. He was city mayor from 1876 to 1890. When he was elected first time, he said: "I'm not a member of any party. I do not have any obligations. I'm peacemaker". He was elected 4 times as Daugavpils mayor, nobody could beat such level of the trust till nowadays. It is not too easy to list all the achievements and things, that was made and improved during his era. New town districts are build, firefighter community is established, plumbing system is planned and built, first bank is opened, special school is organized and opened for women. Maybe he would be erased from our memories despite of all achievements, but his park will always make his name alive. Everyone from Daugavpils knows, who is Pavel Dubrovin. Even USSR modifications have not changed the park and its atmosphere and soul. If you are from Daugavpils or Daugavpils district, certainly you have spent here much more than one or two days. I've got so many different memories from this park. We spent here four year seasons few years in the row. This is the place, where you can go to the date and can get romantic atmosphere. This is the place, where nature heart is beating in the center of Daugavpils town. Visit Dubrovin park, get the necessary information to find the geocache: 1. Find a man with a dog and ask the name of his sculptor. A - number of characters of the surname. 2. B - number of same metal decorative objects with unusual construction not far from the fountain. 3. Near the memorial find out, when the captain ("Kапитан", just captain without additional info) was born, year - number C. 4. How many lions guard the entrance of the building near the park, where museum of regional studies (Novadpetniecibas muzejs) is located - number D.
