Trois briqueteries ont été édifiées à Marcilly : celles d’Alosse en 1840, du Cerf-Bois et de Pont-Long en 1860. La construction « en pisé » (mélange de paille et d’argile appelé également torchis), grosse consommatrice de bois noble (chêne) pour les « marelles », est abandonnée au profit de la brique. L’argile, très abondante à faible profondeur dans le sous-sol a donc connu une exploitation importante à partir du XIX° siècle.
Le four central, les deux hangars de séchage et la maison du tuilier composaient la tuilerie.
Attention où vous mettez les pieds (et la tête) car ces bâtiments sont en mauvais état et il y a des risques d’effondrement.
**** La cache n'est plus sur le site, alors essayez de vous en approcher, car ca vaut le détour, mais attention a la propriéte privée...

Three brick kilns were built in Marcilly: Alosse those of 1840, Cerf-Bois and Long-Pont in 1860. The construction of the 'cob (a mixture of straw and clay, also called mud), a large consumer of quality wood (oak) for "Hopscotch", is abandoned in favor of the brick. Clay, very abundant in the shallow subsurface has experienced significant operating from the nineteenth century.
The central oven, two drying sheds and the house consisted of the tile tiler.
Watch where you put your feet (and head) because these buildings are in poor condition and there is a risk of collapse.
Try to go closer to the site, but take care of the private property...
