Goodwin Oklahoma
This sign is all that is left of the thriving town of Goodwin Oklahoma. The town was established as a water stop and fuel station on the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. It is half way between Shattuck and Higgins. Goodwin had a post office from October 31, 1901 to September 30, 1916. The "Goodwin Enterprise" published a weekly newspaper in 1906-1907. Goodwin also had a church, general store, pool hall, salon, cotton gin, and grain elevator. Nothing is left except this sign.
