CAUTION: This cache, like many others, is located on the side of
the highway. The location does not have a guard rail beside it,
giving it a very wide shoulder with plenty of space to park. Please
pull as far over as you can, and keep a tight leash on children
when getting in and out of the car.
This is another cache placed for those cachers whom I see are
active in the St. Stephen area.
An inuksuk is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans, used by
the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the
Arctic region of North America. These structures are found from
Alaska to Greenland. This region, above the Arctic Circle, is
dominated by the tundra biome, containing areas with few natural
landmarks. The inuksuk may have been used for navigation, as a
point of reference, a marker for hunting grounds, or as a food
cache. Inuksuit vary in shape and size, with deep roots in the
Inuit culture. At Enukso Point on Baffin Island, there are over 100
inuksuit. The area has been designated one of Canada's national
historic sites.
Difficulty rating has been increased due to terrain, please
where good sturdy shoes.
