LA SITUATION.
Lurs est un petit village perché des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, situé à environ 6 km de La Brillanne et 11 km de Forcalquier.
Le village est accessible par une petite route bordée d'oliviers. A 50 mètres d'altitude, Lurs offre une vue impressionnante sur la vallée de la Durance et un beau panorama sur les montagnes alentours.
Vous ne pourrez pas être insensible à ce village constitué quasi-esclusivement de maisons en pierre, et vous prendrez beaucoup de plaisir à flâner dans les rues, et à vous y arrêtez quelques instants.
C'est ici que se trouve le plus vieux moulin de France encore en activité, le moulin de la Cascade de Monessargues (route de Sigonce). Les olives y sont encore écrasées de façon traditionnelle, par des meules en pierre. Un authentique pressage à froid y est pratiqué. Avec environ 100 kg d'olives, 15 litres d'huile d'olive sont obtenues.

Les olives sont cueillies à la main ou au peigne, récoltées dans un filet avant d'être emmenées vers un moulin. Elles sont ensuite effeuillées, pesées, stockées, puis lavées et broyées par des meules. La pâte obtenue est ensuite pressée et le jus obtenu décante, permettant ainsi d'obtenir l'huile d'olive.
Le plus vieux moulin de France encore en activité est situé à Lurs (moulin de la Cascade de Monessargues).
LA CACHE : LE PARADIS EN HAUTE PROVENCE.
La cache se situe a proximité de ce qu on peut appeler un véritable petit paradis. Dans cette région ou le soleil brille et ou l’eau est rare, vous découvrirez une vraie cascade avec a ses pieds, de sortes de petites plageses naturelles ou l’été,les chanceux ( ceux qui connaissent le coin) viennent se baigner.
Notre conseil. Attention aux glissades et il serait dangereux de s’aventurer pour essayer de la gravir, plutôt il faut la regarder sur le pont.Vous trouverez un petit parking pour parquer la voiture. L’eau attirant humais et animaux , attention aux éventuels serpents,n’oubliez pas vous êtes en pleine nature. Enfin découvrez a 20m de la bas le seul moulin a huile qui fontionne à la force de l’eau.

THE SITUATION.
