Geocache Description:

GeoRover #2(the yellow one in the middle), several other small Land Rovers and a REAL Land Rover owned by fellow Geocacher "erik88l-r"!! Thanks for the photo erik88l-r!

WHAT are GeoRovers? GeoRovers are toy Land Rovers and Range Rovers that are traveling about the planet via Geocachers!

ORIGIN: GeoRover #2 began its trek in the the Caffinated Skeeter Ridge Geocache near Hendersonville North Carolina.

NEW GOAL: To travel AFRICA from cache to cache and visit GAME RESERVES and eventually travel around the world. While visiting a reserve try to take the GeoRover on a safari in a real Land Rover (or Land Cruiser if no Rover is avaliable) and have its photo made with African Wildlife in the background...if possible...but please: use caution and common sense here...most forms of African wildlife can hurt or eat you. Also try to have photos made with your safari guide holding the GeoRover.

Next, if you are feeling really adventurous, try to locate one of the AFRICAM.COM
web-cameras where you can attempt to have your photo made with the GeoRover in the view of the cam...if that is possible at all...I have not been there so you will have to use your own judgement as to if this will work or not. You can find out where these cams are by first reading about them HERE
and on Africam.com (but you will have to join for free first) and then looking at the below maps and then finding a Geocache nearby at either geocaching.com or NAVICACHE
(navicache.com---via Buxley's maps. Go for it if you are up to the challenge...Good Luck.

STATUS: PARKED--!

STATUS DEFINED:

PARKED: The GeoRover is resting in a new location so go get it!

ROVING: The GeoRover is on the move somewhere out there!

You will need wait until it is PARKED in a new Geocache to access the GeoRover.

GeoRovers can travel by land, sea, air or mail (post) but you must follow a few simple directions for the GeoRover tracking system to work smoothly.

DIRECTIONS:

1: PICK UP the GeoRover...but only if you intend to place it in another Geocache somewhere. (Yes, you can mail it to a geocaching friend in another country but be sure they will place it into a new Geocache somewhere once it gets there. Also be sure they follow the below directions.)

2: PROMPTLY LOG THIS SITE that you have the GeoRover so other Geocachers know where it is and don't go looking for it in the cache it was previously located in.

3: Take the GeoRover on a journey fitting for the World's best 4x4xfar--don't be affraid to get it muddy. Along the way be sure to take photos of it in action. If you have a real Land Rover or Range Rover take a photo of the two together for added style. Please don't keep the Rover out of cache circulation for more than a few weeks--their goal is to rove not sit on a desk.

4: Place the GeoRover into a new Geocache.

5: PROMPTLY LOG this site again with The Rover's new cache location--with either: the name of the cache, it's coordinates or waypoint. This allows me to update it's coordinates so we can keep track of it as it travels the Earth.

NOTE: The GeoRover's coordinates will remain the same as it's last known location until it is placed into a new Geocache so be sure to read the logs to find it's current status.

Be sure to take photos of the world's Best4x4xFar in action in unique places and post them here with your log so we can keep track of this little Rover's adventures.

HAPPY ROVING!

NOTE: If you decide to mail the GeoRover to another country please take departing photos of it at a US post office as it is mailed and then have your friend photograph it upon arrival at its new destination. Try to have some sort of local feature that identifies that it is indeed in a new country in the background...for example: the Leaning Tower of Piza, Stonehenge or Big Ben, Uluru (Ayres Rock), Mount Fuji, The Spinx or Great Pyramid (or see photos in logs below) and so on...then have your friend post the photo(s) in their logs.
