"The Love Tree" Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kreamer&BearsKrew: It is likely that the storm has taken the container, but we're archiving as it seems some people don't read the cache listing and are trespassing to get to the container, rather than taking the legal route up the beach. Thanks to all who did this cache :)

Geocache Description:

Placed along the shores of Lake Erie, near a tree formerly known by local kids as "The Love Tree".

This cache is placed across the road from a former campground where I spent my summers growing up (now a public golf course). It is located near a tree the local kids knew as ‘the love tree’. Everyone knew where the love tree was and many carved their names into it. Though now overgrown you can still see some of these marks.

Please park at the posted parking coordinates. This is a narrow sometimes busy road and it is not safe to park elsewhere. Also please use suggested trailhead down to the rock beach and do not bushwack. See attached photo for good reason. Take a look at the many fossils on the rock shelf and enjoy the view!
