Sink or Swim Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

aniyn: As much as I would love to replace this one the speed at which it was destroyed makes me think this isn't a good place for a cache. Watch out for a sequel next year.

Geocache Description:

A brief walk along an old jeep trail will bring you right to a quiet beach with a nice deep pool. Here you will don your googles or mask and dive into the Granby River to search for this elusive cache. To find this cache you must be able to swim in deep water. Scuba gear not otherwise required.

The Granby River is a tributary of the Kettle River in British Columbia, Canada, joining the Kettle at the town of Grand Forks. The river is approximately 105 kilometres (65 mi) in length and has its origin in the Monashee Mountains to the west of Fauquier on the Arrow Lakes. The Granby River is named for the Granby Consolidated Mining & Smelting Company, which from 1898 to 1919 operated the Phoenix Mines and a smelter on the east side of the river.

Granby River

Cache container has enough room inside for a travel bug or 2. Coordinates were double checked and seemed accurate - however is not recommended you take your gps into the water. Most GPSR's claim to be water-proof, but are in reality only water-resistant. I would hate to have someone ruin their gpsr searching for this cache; Triangulating from the shore is recommended.

Please leave the anchor weight in place when retrieving this cache.
