Geocache Description:


Berna Eli "Barney" Oldfield (June 3, 1878 - October 4, 1946)
was born on a farm just outside of Wauseon, Ohio.
He went on to become this nation's first great automobile racer.
As most of this races were on dirt roads, this series pays homage to him by placing caches around Fulton County only on dirt and stone roads. Enjoy!



His movie career included the silent film Barney Oldfield's Race for a Life (1913), where he raced against a train to rescue a heroine tied to the train tracks.
