On the Las Vegas Strip, there aren't many trees. However, there are a couple at Planet Hollywood, just outside of the PF Chang's restaurant that faces Las Vegas Blvd. They are on either side of the big horse statue that marks the entrance.
From here, you have a fantastic view of The Bellagio and the new Cosmopolitan tower (due to open in December). You will be standing under the large Planet Hollywood sign and lights that decorate the facade.
Before PH took over and remodeled a few years ago, this was the 'new' Aladdin. The old Aladdin that opened in 1966 and imploded in 1998 (except for the Aladdin Theatre). Before that in 1963, this casino was called the Tally-Ho and then the King's Crown before Milton Prell bought it and transformed it into the successful Aladdin.
You are looking for a nano cache that only has room for the log that is inside. Bring a pen or pencil. Don't worry about the tourists walking around. This is far enough out of the way that they won't even notice you. If they do, they will forget or get distracted so quickly that the memory won't last.
