Het Ooievaarsnestje / Cegonhas

Na 100 gevonden caches is de tijd aangebroken om zelf een cache te
verstoppen en wel op een prachtige plek aan de noordwest zijde van
het Natuurpark ‘Serra da Estrela’. Het is het hoogste
bergmassief van Portugal met de hoogste top, de ‘Torre’
op 1993 meter die vooral aan te bevelen is voor wandelaars en
natuurliefhebbers in het algemeen.
De Quinta das Cegonhas ofwel ‘Huis van de Ooievaars’
is een 17e eeuws landgoed, tegenwoordig bewoond door een nederlands
gezin. Het uitzicht is hier schitterend. Vanaf hier (dorpje
Nabainhos bij Melo) lopen diverse mooie wandelingen o.a. naar het
pittoreske dorpje Folgosinho of naar het verderop gelegen ‘
pareltje’ Linhares.
Ook Gouveia (6 km naar het zuidwesten) en Viseu (circa 40 km
zuidwesten) liggen in de nabije omgeving.
De schat is zowel bereikbaar per auto, fiets en natuurlijk
lopend. Ook voor kinderen de moeite waard!

It is time to hide a cache after 100 caches found! This cache is
located at a beautiful spot on the northwest side of the Natural
Park ‘Serra da Estrela’. This is the highest mountain
massif of Portugal with the highest mountain peak ‘
Torre’ at 1993 meter. This area is recommended to
walkers.
The Quinta das Cegonhas or ‘House of the Storks’ is
a 17th-century Quinta, now owned by a dutch couple. From here you
have splendid views.
From this spot (villages Nabainhos and Melo) you can make
several beautiful trekkings (by feet or take the car with small
children!) to the pittoresque village Folgosinho or the next
‘ pearl’ Linhares.
Also Gouveia (6 km southwest) and Viseu (40 km northwest) are
nearby.
The cache is both reachable by car, bike or of course by feet.
Also children will love this spot.
