Geocache Description:

Around the Lucy Stern Center, Rinconada Park and The Junior Museum and Zoo. Great family area in Palo Alto. Enjoy!

Kudos to a new "Old" Team "BFF" for the FTF and their First find as a team! I hear there was a party in the dark by flashlight! Sorry to have missed it, but Lil' D was in bed TRYING to go to sleep..yeah! Did you guys/gals need a towel?

For you history buffs. No one is sure why this is here. The person named here had come from Merced in 1919. From what his obituary says (PA Times 3/31/1925) he was involved in Scouting both in Merced and here in Palo Alto. The odd thing is that the building behind you was not where it is now until 1940, 15 years after his death, when it was moved from where the Children's Library now sits. It remains a mystery why the tribute to him is where it is.
