Geocache Description:

A multi-stage, final is a small waterproof plastic container big enough for flatter items.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

This is my first cache, and I’ve been working on it for months including going to the town meeting where I had to get permission and explain all about our crazy game.

The Town that Time Forgot is where I live (after growing up in the wilds of Owego, NY) and I have had plenty of years to appreciate its quirks and beautiful vistas of the Hudson. So come along with me on a short tour along the river side of the town and learn a bit of history as well!

There are 3 stages and the final. All succeeding coords after Stage 1 are obtained from the information that you will read or see. To make sure some smarty pants types don’t skip any stages you will need to save some info from the 1st stage on to get the final coords, (haha!) The final is a small camoed plastic waterproof box containing a new TB of mine plus some goodies and an unactivated TB for the FTF. There are always a lot of muggles about so be stealthy, especially at the final. Good luck!

At Stage 1 N41 14.993 W073 57.297
answer these questions to get the coords for Stage 2: N 41 14. A B W 073 57. C D E
A = Add together the last two digits of the year this was created.
B = Take the number of men employed and subtract B to get 256.
C = The digit in thousands place of how much of this was shipped.
D = How many women are clearly in the picture?
E = How many lines are in the last paragraph?

FOR FINAL
K= How many dogs are clearly in the picture?

At Stage 2 answer these questions to get the coords for Stage 3: N 41 14. F G H W 073 57. I
F = The digit in the hundreds place of the year when there were only two brick yards.
G = The digit in the hundreds place of how many men were employed in 1884.
H = The digit in the ones place of how many bricks are in the picture.
I = The three digits that remain when the thousands place digit is dropped for around the time the first brick yard was opened.

For FINAL J = the digit in the thousands place of how many bricks were being produced each day

At Stage 3 answer these questions to get the coords for the FINAL!
N 41 14. J K L W 073 57.M N O
J = Put in answer from Stage 2
K= Put in answer from Stage 1
L= The digit in the thousands place of when the glacial ice first began to retreat to form the Hudson River.
M= The number of the month when the Americans landed north of Haverstraw.
N= The number of fish in the picture.
O= The number of the month when a British fleet appeared around Croton Point .

NOTE: ERROR FACTOR: to correct an error discovered in the FINAL coord waypoint averaging before the cache was found, please SUBTRACT .006 from your LONGITUDE FINAL coords once you figure them out. This hopefully will eliminate the 60' discrepancy the first finders told me about.
