Arbre de Sully Traditional Geocache

The Duke of Sully was a minister in the government of the French king Henry IV. His responsibility was a reform of the finances and organization of France and to this end, he traveled a lot. This tree marks the road between the cities of Moulins and Autun, important cities in the central/Burgundy region.

It is situated in the village of Gannay, on the banks of the Loire river.

The tree has died long ago. It has been reinforced by concrete as a means of conservation the remains and it has a tower type of roof on it to keep the water out.

The difficulty here is not to find the place, but to search, retrieve, log and replace the cache without being seen. The tree is in the centre of the village, in front of the town hall, next to a café, and with shops nearby. It is the very heart of the village. The best strategy is probably to come by day to inspect the environment and return by night to retrieve the cache in a single swift move.
