Le nom que nous avons choisi pour cette cache résume l'histoire de la chapelle Notre Dame de Brouls (1864).
Vous la trouverez en haut d'un promontoire, qui vous offrira une jolie vue.
"L'érection de ce sanctuaire et son origine se perdent dans la nuit des âges", lit-on sur un registre paroissial de 1878.
La tradition rapporte que "les mugissements (brouls) répétés d'une vache firent trouver une statuette de la Sainte-Vierge dans un buisson, à l'endroit même où s'élève actuellement l'édifice. Il s'agissait d'une statuette de la vierge à l'Enfant Jésus qu'on essaya d'installer dans l'église paroissiale. Mais le lendemain, elle était revenue à l'emplacement de sa découverte. Ce fait s'étant reproduit trois fois, les habitants de Pointis-Inard édifièrent un sanctuaire à l'endroit désigné par la Vierge.
La chapelle actuelle, qui date de 1864, est plus longue et plus haute que le bâtiment primitif.

The name we have chosen for this cache summarizes the story of the Chapel of Notre Dame de Brouls (1864).
You will find it at the top of a promontory that offers a nice view.
"The erection of this shrine and its origin is lost in the mists of ages," reads a parish register of 1878.
Tradition says that "the repeated lowings (brouls) of a cow allowed the discovery of a statue of Virgin Mary in a bush on the very spot where the building stands now. It was a statue of the Virgin and Child that people tried to put in the parish church. But the next day, it was found again in the site of its discovery. This having been repeated three times, the inhabitants of Pointis-Inard built a sanctuary at the place designated by the Virgin.
The present chapel, which dates from 1864, is longer and taller than the original building.
