North of the Highland Scenic Highway (Rt 150) in Pocahontas County, turn west onto Mine Road, then seek a parking area on the right. Park here and find a trail. This is an easy walk for less than ¼ mile with virtually no elevation gain. The 1 1/2 rating is because it isn't suitable for wheelchairs.
Another cache in this area, a micro, was removed. This one is larger and won’t be as hard to find. The site was chosen by children, who hope it will be fun for all ages. The woods here were cool and almost mysterious on a hot day when we placed it. We found several varieties of fungi and enjoyed looking at the Ground Cedar, which is an almost unchanged ancient plant. (Don’t pick it – leave it for others to investigate.)
The container is medium and is gently covered with found objects. Please cover it again as you find it.
The cache is not far off the trail. Can you identify the trees?
