At Icelands 66th independence anniversary (June 17th, 2010) we want to remember the time before.
Even roads in rural areas were constructed for the visit of the Danish Kings. One of them on the east side of this lovely Hvítá valley. Well the sign is a little bit confusing. It tells you the road was constructed in 1907 for the visit of Frederick VII, but that could not be since his life time was from 6th October 1808 to 15th November 1863. So we try to figure some more out... Enjoy the nature! Don´t put any food items in the box - animals are normally hungry and please make sure to close and hide the box well when you leave!
