Tato keška je věnovaná chemické sloučenině dihydrogenmonooxid (DHMO), zvané též kyselina hydroxylová nebo oxidan.
Tato sloučenina:
- je hlavní složkou kyselého deště
- přispívá ke "skleníkovému efektu"
- může způsobit vážné popáleniny
- při vdechnutí může způsobit smrt
- přispívá k erozi půdy
- zrychluje korozi a rezivění mnoha kovů
- způsobuje selhání elektrických obvodů
- snižuje účinnost automobilových brzd
I přes všechna nebezpečí je dihydrogenmonooxid často používán:
- jako rozpouštědlo a chladící médium
- v jaderných elektrárnách
- při výrobě Polystyrenu
- jako zpomalovač hoření
- při pokusech na zvířatech
- při rozprašování pesticidů. I po umytí zůstává produkt kontaminován dihydrogenmonooxidem
- jako přídavná látka v různých potravinách
Myslíte si, že dihydrogenmonooxid je nebezpečná chemikálie, jejíž používání by se mělo zakázat? Pokud ano, nechali jste se nachytat.

This substance:
