This may be a quick "find" but please sit and reflect. Think about these young men buried here. They died so very far from home. Their family, friends and loved ones never to see them again. But this is the reality of war.
There are 187 German prisoners of war buried in in this cemetery. Some from the 1st world war but most from the 2nd world war. They are buried two to a grave. Brought together from 36 different camps across Canada. In 1970 a decision was made to consolidate the graves in one location to guarantee the graves received proper care.
As all my "Bone-Yard" caches, please walk softly, these boys are sleeping.
