Hrad Skara
Keska se nachazi na na miste, kde staval ve stredoveku hrad Skara. Historie hradu není detailne znama a stejne tak i jeho jmeno je nejiste. Ruzne zdroje uvadeji pro hrad jmeno Skara, Sacar, Stara a take Hostyne. Podle Bohuslava Balbina se zde narodil prazsky arcibiskup Arnost z Pardubic. Pravdivost teto informace je tezke overit, nicmene nektere prameny tuto teorii podporuji.
Hrad byl umisten na vyvysenem ostrohu nedaleko historicke Trstenicke stezky, spojujici Moravu a Cechy a pobliz brodu pres potok Vymolu. Presne datum jeho zalozeni je nezname, ale jeho existence se predpoklada minimalne od první poloviny 14. stoleti. Rok zaniku hradu je naopak znam pomerne presne, protoze jej v roce 1507 vypalil nepritel Prazanu Jiri Kopidlansky. Pote uz nebyl nikdy obnoven.
V 18. stoleti pouzili majitele panstvi Lichtenstejnove zdivo z hradu Skara na stavbu zdi kolem Skvorecke obory, kterou si zridili za ucelem chovu lovne zvere. Zed kolem obory je doposud pomerne dochovana, ale hradu Skara tento „budovatelsky pocin“ moc nepomohl. Zdivo prakticky beze stopy zmizelo. Na miste jsou dobre patrne terenni nerovnosti, naznacujici umisteni jednotlivych casti hradu. Hlavni obytna cast hradu byla umistena na vychode nad vyraznou rokli. Na zapad pak bylo predhradi s vyustenim brany na severozapade. Hrad byl chranen valem s prikopem, ktery je dodnes bez problemu viditelny.
Misto, kde staval hrad je dnes zarostle stromy a ve vychodni casti arealu (centrum hradu) stoji nekolik chat. Pokud se vydate zapadnim smerem, tak po nekolika stech metrech narazite na nevelke zbytky romanticke zriceniny, kterou ze zdiva Skary postavili Lichtenstejnove v prvni polovine 19. stoleti.

Pristup
Ke kesce je nejjednodussi pristup ze dvou mist: motoristum doporucuju zaparkovat auto pres silnici od waypointu C1 - na parkovisti u hlavni silnice na Kolin, prejit silnici a od waypointu C1 pokracovat po pesince az k hradu (upozorneni: po desti byva tato cesta bahnita). Druha varianta je projit ulici U obory a v levotocive zatacce na jejim konci pokracovat od waypointu C2 rovne po pesince mezi ploty k mostku pres potok a pak obejit zprava chaty, ktere uz se nalezaji v arealu hradu. V ulici U obory ani nikde pobliz neni kde parkovat, motorizovanym kacerum tudiz doporucuju waypoint C1
Ke kesce je take mozne se dostat po pesince na pravem brehu potoka Vymola, ktera zacina cca 40m JV od mostu pres Vymolu, pobliz kesky Mostek nad rickou Vymolou. Cestou si muzete odlovit take kesku Hraz rybnika na Vymole. Tato cesta je vhodna hlavne pro pesi, pripadne odvazne cyklisty. Zacatek cesty u mostu pres Vymolu muze byt nekdy zarostly.
Poznamka: Tato keska byla zalozena u prilezitosti svatby Aleny a Romana, kteri si prali jako darek novou kesku. :-)
Skara Castle
The cache is located at the spot where stood a medieval castle “Skara“. The history of the castle is known only to a certain point and its name is uncertain either. Different sources mention the name Skara, Sacar, Stara, and Hostyne. According to Bohuslav Balbin Arnost of Pardubice, Archbishop of Prague, was born here. Verity of this information is difficult to confirm, but several sources support this theory.
The castle was located on an elevated headland near the historic Trstenice trail, linking Bohemia and Moravia, and a nearby ford across the brook Vymola. The exact date of its foundation is unknown, nevertheless its existence is estimated minimally from the first half of the 14th century. On the other hand the year of its destruction is known quite precisely because it was burned in 1507 by Jiri Kopidlansky, an enemy of Prague townsmen. It was never restored afterwards.
In the 18th century the Lichtenstein, owners of the estate, used the castle walling to build a wall around Skvorec game-preserve. The wall around the preserve is still relatively preserved, but this "constructive deed" did not help the castle very much. Masonry of the castle virtually disappeared. There are clearly visible terrain irregularities, indicating the location of respective parts of the castle. The main residential part of the castle was located in the east above a large coomb. The courtyard was in the west with the gate in the northwest. The castle was protected by a rampart with a ditch that is still clearly visible.
The place where the castle stood is now overgrown with trees and in the eastern area (center of the castle) stand a few cottages. If you go west, after a few hundred meters you will find small remnants of a romantic ruin, built in the 19th century by the Lichtenstein out of the masonry of the Skara Castle.

Access
The cache is best approached from two places: To motorists I suggest to park the car across the road from the waypoint C1 - in the parking lot near the main road to Kolin, cross the road and to continue from waypoint C1 along a trail to the castle (Note: the path is usually muddy after rain). The second option is to go through the street U Obory and at a left-hand bend continue straight ahead from the waypoint C2 up the path between fences to the bridge over a stream and then to the right along cottages, that are already located within the grounds of the castle. There are no suitable places for parking in the street or anywhere near, to motorized cachers I recommend waypoint C1.
It is also possible to get to the cache along the path on the right bank of the brook Vymola, which starts approximately 40 meters southeast of the bridge over the brook, near the cache Mostek nad rickou Vymolou. Along the way it is also possible to find the cache Hraz rybnika na Vymole. This trip is suitable for walking, eventually courageous cyclists. The beginning of the path near the bridge over Vymola can sometimes be overgrown.
