Geocache Description:

A Scout is Loyal
This cache is a small cache (about the size of a soda can) and is set as part of the "Trail to Eagle" cache series honoring community service projects that have been performed by Eagle Scout Candidates.

Loyalty has many forms. There is loyalty to one's country or town, loyalty to family and loyalty to friends. We can serve our country though the military and by voting, we can serve our community by keeping it clean and supporting worthwhile projects. But showing loyalty to our family and friends is something we must deal with every day. Sticking up for family and friends, being there when a friend needs you, and helping a friend when he may not know he needs help, sometimes seem like the most difficult ways to show loyalty, yet, when you think about it, are the easiest.

The swamp bridge you are walking on is actually the culmination of two Eagle Service Projects. Part of it was built by Sean Carney of Troop 8 who is currently a commercial project superintendent/engineer, and part of it By Adam Baxter Of Troop 8 who is currently involved in IT Networking. Other trail improvements in the park were done by Jon Todd of Troop 135 who is currently a software architect in San Francisco, Dustin Partridge of Troop 8 who finished hiking the Pacific Crest Trail on the west coast last summer (doing the AT from end to end just wasn't enough), by Craig Freeman of Troop 135 who is currently web developer in San Diego, CA. and by Rich Moffitt of Troop 5 who is currently a computer secuity consultant. Thanks to all of them and the Scouts who helped, we now enjoy a great trail system in the park.
