An den angegebenen Koordinaten findest du einen gewaltigen Findling.
Er wurde vor etwa 200.000 Jahren mit den Gletschern der Saale-Eiszeit aus dem heutigen Schweden hier her transportiert.
Mit seinen etwa 200Tonnen ist der Stein fast so groß, wie der "Alte Schwede" in Hamburg (visit link) und der größte in Schleswig-Holstein.
Bei dem von den Einheimischen Teufelsstein genantem Findling, handelt es sich um einen Schälchenstein, wie es sie häufiger aber meistens viel kleiner gibt, z.B.in Albersdorf/Dithmarschen.
Die Verteufelung des Steines läßt darauf schließen, daß er intensiv genutzt wurde.
Diese Schälchensteine waren vermutlich über Jahrtausende in Gebrauch. In Schweden werden solche Steine "elfstenar", also Elfensteine genannt. In den Schälchen wurden Opfergaben wie Blut, Milch, Fett und Honig dargebracht. Auch wurden andere kleine Gaben hineingelegt oder Krankheiten "hineingepustet". Möglich sind auch Neufeuerrituale zur Wintersonnenwende. Das bei so einem Ritual entstehende Gesteinsmehl wurde als Medizin genutzt. (visit link)
Von der Straße aus betrachtet erscheint der Stein garnicht so groß, doch wenn man sich ihm nähert, offenbart er seine gigantischen Ausmaße.

At the listed coordinates you will find a huge boulder. Approximately 200 000 years ago (Saale ice age) glaciers transported this rock from Sweden to this spot.
Its weight is about 200 tons; that means it is just about as big as the “Old Swede” in Hamburg (visit link) and one of the largest in Northern Germany.
Local people call this rock Teufelsstein (devil’s stone), their ancestors used to employ it for religious purposes and fertility rites. It is one of the bigger stones with cup marks as seen for instance in Albersdorf/Dithmarschen.
The demonization (devil’s stone) of this stone shows us how important it was to people living here. Stones with cupmarks have been used over a very long period of time, in Sweden called “elfenar”. The small dents served to sacrifice blood, milk, greese and honey and other little tokens. Deseases were blown into the hole.
When you look from the street the boulder may not look all that big but once you step closer it shows its real tremendous size.
