Geocache Description:

I thought it would be fun to see how many new cache sites I could find near to Mills in my local area. These will include Watermills and Windmills, some still in use, some now used for other purposes. Most mills are sited in nice surroundings, so I hope you will enjoy visiting them. I will be adding new caches to this series as I find them. There might not be a pencil in the micro, so remember to bring your own.

All the micros are hidden right on public footpaths. None of them will be very close to private houses. Some of them are near public highways, but many are along private roadways, with only footpath access. Please park considerately, and do not drive along any private roads to access the caches.

This is a new hide, in a new location, replacing the original Amiesmill Mill Micro, as the old hiding place is no longer suitable.

I am guessing that there must have been a water mill here in the distant past, with Amiesmill Bridge and Amiesmill Farm nearby. Close to the cache there is a small sluice gate and a weir, which may have been something to do with the mill. The micro is placed on the Horsham Riverwalk, about half a mile to the south-east of the town. There is room to park a car or two on the side of the road near Amiesmill Bridge. Please do not block any gateways.
