[ENG] The cache is located on the island in Dzirnavezers (Mill lake). The boat is not necessary!

Visapkart salai - staditu liepu aleja. 1981.gada Latvijas PSR Zinatnu akademijas Vestures instituta arheologi salinas gala izdarija nelielus parbaudes rakumus, kas liecinaja, ka tur jau tala senatne bijusi ierikota nocietinajumu sistema. Izrakumos tika atsegtas no akmeniem un zemes veidotu valnu atliekas, kas pec izmeriem un kravuma rakstura atgadinaja dzelzs laikmeta pilskalnos sastopamos nocietinajumus, bet atrastas rotaslietas liecinaja, ka ši vieta bijusi apdzivota ari pec vacu iebrukuma 13.gadsimta.
[ENG] Kalnadarzs is island in Dzirnavezers (Mill lake) that had once been an ancient settlement site. All around the island there are planted lime avenue. At 1981 archaeologists from Institute of History made there a test excavations, which showed that already a long time ago there have been a fortification system. At excavations there were exposed remains from stone and earth made ramparts, whose form is characteristic for Iron Age hill fortification system. They also find a jewelry that showed that this place was inhabited even after the German invasion at 13th century.
