Geocache Description:

The Cache is a plastic ex drinking chocolate container. Co ordinates were accurate to 7 feet at the time of placing but tree cover in the summer months will cause problems.

High Elms Country Park located in High Elms Road off Shire Lane between Farnborough and Downe in the London Borough of Bromley. It is a popular place for walkers of all ages, and picnics in good weather. The park is criss-crossed by numerous wide footpaths (some may become muddy in wet weather), and many smaller ones. High Elms Country Park offers 250 acres of countryside to explore combined with a 150-acre golf course, which together forms the High Elms Estate, originally the country home of the Lubbock family. The estate is 15 miles from central London, located on the ridge of the North Downs on the rim of the Thames basin. Visitors to the estate can enjoy the woodlands, nature centre; ice well, formal gardens and wildflower meadows. The site is also home to BEECHE (Bromley Environmental Education Centre at High Elms), which is a newly-built sustainable education and visitor centre with a cafe.
There are two car parks, both off High Elms Road. For a quickish cache and dash an unofficial car park could be in the public golf course parking. If you use the recommended parking please do not walk along High Elms Road as traffic speeds along it, use paths in the park, and take care crossing the road.

The hourly Bus R8 (Monday to Saturday) from Orpington Station stops at Shire Lane/ High Elms Road, and more frequent Bus 358(daily) from Orpington or Bromley South stations stops in Farnborough Village about 1 mile from the park.
The Cache is a plastic ex drinking chocolate container (the first finders may be lucky enough to get a whiff of chocolate!) Co ordinates were accurate to 7 feet at the time of placing but tree cover in the summer months will cause problems.
The FTF Series
This series is run by FantasticCat (The FTF Greater London #1 cache is GC1N994) and is a continuation of the series that Dorsetgal started in Dorset, after hearing about it how it got established in the US on the Podcacher Podcast. Hopefully in time it will become established nationwide!

As Groundspeak has now prohibited the publication of caches which required you to hide another cache as a condition of logging the FTF find, you do NOT have to place another cache as a condition of logging the FTF but it would be nice if you did (particularly for YOU!), so the chain is not broken!
Guidelines for this series are below:
1. FTF'er should place the next cache in the series (in this case, The Curse of the FTF #17!) within 1 month... Otherwise the curse will prevent you from ever getting another FTF again!!! Muhahahahahahahaha!
2. You can only be a FTF for this series once. This spreads the FTF love around, and gives others a chance to play along.
3. Cache can be any type of cache (Puzzle, Multi, etc.), but I do ask that you set it in Greater London (there are 33 London boroughs making up Greater London; Enfield in the North down to Croydon and Bromley in the South, Hillingdon in the West through to Havering in the East).
4. You must include this set of guidelines in your listing for the series. I (FantasticCat) will be happy to answer any questions concerning the guidelines or about the placing of caches to those who have not placed a cache before. By way of clarification, there is no requirement besides the standard signing of the cache log to prevent you from logging this cache when found. Everyone should log their find, and hopefully the FTF person will play along and place another cache, but it is in no way a requirement for logging your find.
