Geocache Description:

An Observational Mystery Gavotte (OMG) cache around Farnham Town centre. This is the ideal cache to do when your wife/husband/partner wants to spend the afternoon shopping.

The cache is based almost exactly on the RichieCactus “Close-up” cache in Guildford, which I enjoyed so much. Thanks to Richie for allowing me to re-use the concept.

The initial coordinates above are just to get you started - the cache itself is at the other end of town. Allow a couple of hours.

Discover where each photograph was taken, answer the question that goes with it, and you will reveal the co-ordinates for the cache. The clues for the questions are usually within a few metres of the photo.

All locations are around the town centre on West Street, Downing Street, The Borough, South Street, Union Road or tucked away in the Yards and Alleys that adjoin them. There is one exception and that is near the suggested parking – close to the Udder for those that have completed the Farnham Ramble.

Note that the pictures have been jumbled up slightly, so keep your eyes open.

A : What is the date on this Weathervane - 19A9 ?

B : It’s not number 10, but what number is it?

C : How many clerical figures at this location?

D : Please note the time you do this cache in your log. You don’t know the time? Well ask a Policeman!

E : This is your hint for the cache hide. In which direction does this plaque face?

- East : Get Climbing, it's hanging up there
- North : Ground Level, in Oak tree roots
- West : About Waist Height under Caching sticks
- South : Down with the Trolls

F : A distinctive statue, but what is the number in its name “Projection F”?
Note : The nameplate has disappeared. Until it returns, F is the number of bolts holding the statue to the ground divided by 4

G : Could be a flowery location, but what is the missing number ?

H : Find this ornate Iron work. The next door building was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, but in the which year - 189H?

K : On this building there is a Basalt Lava Millstone donated by Farnham’s German friends. In which year – 19K2?

L : Nearby there is a plaque on the wall describing a medieval tile kiln that was once on this site. It was in operation from AD 1180 to – 121L?

M : It’s a pub, but how many Lanterns on the building facade?

N : In front of the present building once stood a timber framed market house, initially used for trading grain and latterly as a jail. It was demolished in 1866, but what year was it erected - 15N6 ?

P : How many similar pillar cappings surround the building ?
(Ignore the be-headed ones).

Q : Very Cute, but how many letters in the first name of the Sculptor?

R : How many Clerics on these Murals?

S : How many Balls (or Ball-like) Ornaments are on the roof of this building?

T : A school from 1611 to 18T2?

V: At the entrance to this yard is a Farnham Heritage Trail Plaque. What is the number on the plaque?

W : How many Lion’s on this watery structure?

Y : A handsome chap, but has anyone any idea who he is? What year was he put here – 189Y ?
