Skrýš je ukryta na vrchu Bukové hory./ The cache is hidden on the top of Beech Hill.
Buková hora je vlastne postraní sopouch sopecného pohorí Doupovské hory. Tycí se vedle podobných kuželu - Travného vrchu a Andelské hory. Na pasekách ve strání bývají pekné výhledy do údolí Ohre a na Krušné hory.
Záverecné stoupání je prudké a mimo cestu. V léte mužou na vršku rust koprivy. Jde o pomerne divokou oblast, kde lidská noha príliš casto nespocine.
Jako výchozí bod nejlépe poslouží karlovarské golfové hrište (neplacené parkovište na 50.211000, 12.932164) ci rozcestí na silnicce na Kyselku (lze zaparkovat na 50.218811, 12.962467).
Zajímavostí téhle skrýše je, že vznikla jako jedna z prvních v Cesku. Jde o tretí nejstarší keš u nás, taková starenka dalo bys se ríci (ano vyžaduje péci, chystám se za ní). Pricemž první dve keše schovali cizinci ci ceští emigranti, takže jde vlastne o první keš schovanou našincem (ha aspon nejaké prvenství). Keš byla schována ješte bez GPS, koordináty byly odvozeny z mapy. S pomocí nápovedy šla keš najít bez GPS.
O Geocachingu jsem se dozvedel v USA v roce 2001 v tamním casopise Orienteering North America. Ješte téhož roku na podzim jsme keš ukryli a Krtek napsal o geocachingu do casopisu Orientacní beh. A pak se spustila lavina. Dnes (podzim 2007) je v Cesku pres 5 tisíc keší./
The most famous thermal spa of Czech Republic is in Karlsbad. The spa has 12 warm springs and a natural thermal geyser the Vridlo. There are two rivers running through the city the Tepla and Ohre River. The cache is on one of the steep hillsides that rise from the right bank of the river Ohre.
The best starting point is by the golf course Olsova Vrata. The surrounding terrain geologically belongs to the volcanic range Doupovske hory. There are three dominants in the vicinity, three cones – Beech, Grass and Angel hill. On the Angel hill there is a ruin of mediaeval castle, which was devastated from the Swedish troops in the 17th century. The cache is close to the top of the Beech hill (Bukova hora).
There are nice views from the Beech hill. In the west you can see the Slavkovsky les and in the east the Angel hill. I had discovered this nice place in the cold winter 1996. I had been making here an orienteering map.
