Dieser Multicache führt Dich zu den beiden Max-Planck-Instituten im Dresdner Süden. Physik komplexer Systeme und die chemische Physik fester Stoffe werden hier erforscht. Die architektonisch anspruchsvollen Gebäude sind in den Jahren 2000 / 2001 erbaut worden. Im Hinterhof befinden schöne kleine Parks.
Die Cacherunde bietet sogar noch mehr Wissenschaft, so führt sie weiterhin am Fraunhoferinstitut für Werzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik (IWU, 2006 erbaut) sowie in der Nähe des Gebäudes der Fakultät für Informatik der Technischen Universität Dresden (2008 erbaut) vorbei.
Die Parkplatzsituation für Autos in der Nähe des Caches ist in der Regel schlecht. Es ist deshalb eine gute Idee, mit der Straßenbahnlinie 3 zur Haltestelle Plauen Nöthnitzer Straße zu kommen, die nur wenige Meter vom Beginn des Caches entfernt ist. Alternativ kann natürlich auch das Fahrrad benutzt werden. Es kann dann mit auf die Runde genommen werden, es kann aber auch mit zu den anderen Fahrrädern am Eingang des Max-Planck-Institutes für Physik komplexer Systeme gestellt werden, dem Startpunkt dieses Multicaches. Vom Final gelangt man mit wenigen Schritten wieder dahin zurück.
Bei (01) N51°01.622' E13°42.981' stehst Du also vor dem Eingang des Max-Planck-Institutes für Physik komplexer Systeme. Hier notierst Du Dir die Hausnummer als A und zählst weiterhin die Anzahl der Säulen B, die außerhalb des Gebäudes sind. Innerhalb des Gebäudes und am anderen Ende befinden sich weitere Säulen, diese sind aber nicht mitzuzählen. Wenn Du am Wasserbecken unterhalb des Hauses nach oben siehst, fallen Dir viele Runde Lampen auf. Zähle ebenfalls nur die, die sich außerhalb des Gebäudes befinden und merke die Anzahl als C. Den „komplexesten“ Teil hast Du nun bereits hinter Dir.
Weiter geht es zu (02) N51°01.589' E13°43.164'. Hier ist der Eingang des Max-Planck-Institutes für Chemische Physik fester Stoffe. Wenn Du Dich im Eingangsbereich eine Weile umsiehst entdeckst, Du zwei Hausnummern. Notiere die niedrigere als D und die höhere als E.
Bei (03) N51°01.535' E13°43.233' geht es wissenschaftlich weiter. Das Gelände ist Privatgelände und wird videoüberwacht. Um die Aufgabe zu lösen, musst Du allerdings nicht in den Fokus der Kameras - das sollte also kein Grund zu Abschreckung sein. Du stehst nun auf einem kleinen Hügel und siehst die Rückseite des Fraunhoferinstitut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik (IWU). Auch hier ist ein schöner kleiner Park.
Zähle die Anzahl der rechteckigen Doppelfenster auf der Südseite des Gebäudes und merke Sie Dir als F. Hier hast Du den weitesten Punkt der Runde erreicht. Gratulation zum Bergfest!
Mit Blick Richtung Osten kannst Du das Gebäude der Fakultät für Informatik sehen. Wenn Du genügend Zeit hast, dann mach einen Abstecher in das Gebäude. Es lohnt sich. Jetzt liegen nur noch zwei Stationen vor Dir.
Von (04) N51°01.537’ E13° 43.109’ siehst Du große Bilder, die auf Glaswände übertragen wurden. Zähle die Anzahl der Bilder als G. Beachte dabei, dass ein Bild wirklich etwas abseits der anderen steht. Für Unbefugte ist das Betreten dieser Parkanlage leider verboten (von Schwierigkeiten mit dem Wachdienst wurde jedoch noch nicht berichtet). Die Straße in Richtung Kita/Kleingärten darf benutzt werden.
Hinweis: Bis vor kurzem wurde auf dem Gelände des Max-Planck-Instituts für Chemische Physik fester Stoffe gebaut. Seitdem stehen noch nicht alle der ursprünglichen Glaswände an wieder an ihrem eigentlichen Platz bzw. sind überhaupt nicht zu sehen. Deshalb sei verraten, dass hier sonst insgesamt 13 Bilder zu sehen sind.

This Multicache brings you to he two Max-Planck institutes in the South of Dresden, where researches work on the physics of complex systems and chemical physics of solids. Both institutes were built in the years 2000 and 2001 in modern architecture style. Behind the buildings there’s a nice little park.
The cache stations offer even more science, as they are near to Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology (IWU, built in 2006) and the building of the department of information science of the Technical University of Dresden (built 2008).
The parking situation for cars in the neighborhood of the cache is usually poor. Therefore it is a good idea to take tram line 3 to the stop “Plauen, Nöthnitzer Straße”, which is only a few steps from where the cache starts. Alternatively bikes can be used. You may take your bike with you on the cache round or park it at the entrance of the Max-Planck institute for the physics of complex systems. This is the starting point of the multi and not very far from the final.
At (01) N51°01.622' E13°42.981' you are in front of the entrance of the Max-Planck institute for the physics of complex systems. Write down the house number as A and count the columns which are completely outside the building. Do not consider those inside the building or those at the east end of the building. When you go to the water reservoir and look up and find numerous round lights at the ceiling. Count them and again do only consider those lights, which are outside the building. The number of columns is B the number of lights is C.
This was already the most “complex” part of the cache. Move on to (02) N51°01.589' E13°43.164'. Here is the entrance of the Max-Planck institute for chemical physics of solids. If you have a look around the entrance it is possible to discover even two house number. Record the lower one as D and the higher one as E.
At (03) N51°01.535' E13°43.233' you keep on following science. The terrain is private and video controled. However, in order to solve this task you do not need to be in the focus of the camera. You stay on a little hill and can see the backside of the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology (IWU). There is also a nice small little park.
Count the number of the rectangle shaped windows on the southside of the building and note them as F. Here you have already reached the furthest point of this Multicache. Congratulations!
In the east you can see the building of the department of information science. If you have enough time it is worth visiting the building. Now only two stations are left.
From (4) N51°01.537’ E13° 43.109’ you can see some big pictures on glass. How many pictures can you see? The number is G. Please watch carefully, some of the pictures are not easily to be seen. Unfortuneately you are not allowed to go closer to the pictures (However, no troubles with the security service have been reported, yet). You may use the road to the kindergarden.
Hint: Recently, there were ongoing engineering works on the area of the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids. For this reason, not all of the pictures are already back at their original location. Some of them might not be visible at all. Therefore you are adviced that there were 13 pictures before the engineering works started.
