Les caches « Les fortifs … » vous propose de découvrirent une petite partie du patrimoine militaire du Pays de Langres. En effet, c’est près de 40 ouvrages qui ont été construit pour protéger la ville de Langres. De toutes les tailles : du fort de 52 hectares au simple puits stratégique, ils sont aujourd’hui à 95 % inaccessible car interdit à la visite par leur propriétaire.

La lunette « 10 » est un ouvrage fortifié faisant partie des défenses de la citadelle de Langres. Construite en 1848 en même temps que la citadelle elle-même, elle se présente sous la forme d’un fortin polygonal entouré de profonds fossés et entièrement autonome.
Installée à quelques dizaines de mètres en avant des bastions de la citadelle, elle est une sorte de « sentinelle », un point d’appui avancé destiné à ralentir une attaque venant du plateau.
Ouvrages rares et fragiles du fait de leur isolement, les lunettes ont souvent été démolies suite à l’extension périurbaine; Langres a la chance d’en conserver encore une (sur les deux originelles).

The "Lunette 10" is a strengthened work being a part of defenses of the citadel of Langres. Built in 1848 at the same time as the citadel itself, it appears under the shape of a small fort polygonal surrounded with profound ditches and completely autonomous.
Installed in some tens of meters in front of the bastions of the citadel, it is a kind of "sentinel", an advanced support intended to slow down an attack coming from the south.
Rare and fragile this military constructions were often demolished further to the outer-urban extension; Langres is lucky to preserve still one (on both original).
