Geocache Description:

Back in the days of roof walks on freight cars and railroad personnel "walking the train", tell-tales were a very important! A "tell-tale" is a series of ropes suspended over the tracks above the height of a boxcar. These ropes are intended to give warning to a brakeman or other railroad personnel on the roof of the train that the train is approaching a low-clearance obstacle, such as a tunnel or a bridge.

This small loc 'n loc is hidden on the Trans Canada Trail in the Town of Tillsonburg. Originally the cache was a micro film cannister but some trail maintenance in September '10 created a brush and fallen tree pile on top of the hidey spot. It is not possible to get to it anymore. The container is in a new location not far from the original spot. Coordinates were updated and a hint provided.

Please bring a pen/pencil to log your find.

This section of the Trans Canada Trail, located on an old rail line (tracks have been removed), is a popular route for people to use as a cut through from one road to another or for dog walking so, of course, muggles may be near.

You will notice that there is another set of train tracks that run parallel with this section of the Trail. It is a used line but is very infrequent. The Trail and the rail line are separated by a fairly wide and deep stream which will keep you a safe distance away. There is no need to go near the used tracks. The cache is located on the trail side. The east/west tracks in the area on the bridge is also now a rail trail so it is safe to explore up there!
