Originally, to find this cache, it was necessary to visit eight other ACWA caches. This has now changed, so the coordinates refer to the actual cache. However, the cache type cannot be changed, so it is still referred to as a puzzle.
Until a reviewer posts the updated cords, cache can be found at N52° 25.305' W1° 22.213'.
The cache is located close to Pedlar's packhorse bridge, a photo of which features on the back cover of our 21 walks book. It was restored in the 19th century and was originally on a bridleway between the deserted medieval of Upper Smite and Brinklow.
This is another in a series of caches created by ‘A Coventry Way Association’. The association was formed to promote a long distance footpath, A Coventry Way, and to support local authorities in the path’s maintenance. Our primary aim was to encourage people to discover and use the local countryside. A book of 21 Circular Walks was produced, broadly based on the main walk. Our plan is to set out a series of caches, located on or near each of the 21 walks. See (visit link) for further information.
The cache is a micro (smaller than 35mm film canister), containing just a log. There is roadside verge parking nearby, but please avoid the area at the end of the footpath.
The cache also includes the first half of the coordinates for the bonus cache – ACWA Bonus Cache - Walk X (GC24PJV).
