Geocache Description:

The area south of the cache, which forms part of the original Dunsmore Heath, is noted for its sand and gravel pits. However, there are also areas of limestone rocks from the Jurassic period. This was quarried locally and used in blocks for construction of several of the older buildings in the area, with names such as Limestone Hall and Limekiln Farm. Another feature is the absence of woodland, except in small patches.

This is another in a series of caches created by ‘A Coventry Way Association’. The association was formed to promote a long distance footpath, A Coventry Way, and to support local authorities in the path’s maintenance. Our primary aim was to encourage people to discover and use the local countryside. A book of 21 Circular Walks was produced, broadly based on the main walk. Our plan is to set out a series of caches, located on or near each of the 21 walks. See (visit link) for further information.

The cache is a micro, containing just a log. Please ensure that it is hidden from view when replacing. The cache is located close to the main railway line between Coventry and Rugby, just off a short road section of walk 10. Limited parking is available very close to the site, so this can be treated as a cache and dash. Alternatively, if you intend to complete the whole walk, this starts from Wolston at N52 22.735 W001 23.381. It can be done in conjunction with Brookside Walk 10 cache (GC24EHM).
