Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE: All caches in this series are hidden within the coverage area of the station. They are not located at the fire station.

New Dundee Station is part of Wilmot Township Fire Department. The other fire stations in the township are New Hamburg and Baden There are approximately 25 volunteers at each station.
After a disastrous fire in 1914, the citizens of New Dundee organized fire protection for the village. A sixteen-man hand pump was purchased along with buckets and hose. This was the beginning of the New Dundee Fire Department.

The fire department is responsible for a wide range of activities. These include firefighting and all categories of rescue matters along with the handling and disposing of hazardous materials. Performing activities such as the removal of trapped victims from vehicles or building may be required. The firefighters are also trained in advanced first aid and would assist in the treatment and evacuation of individuals when required. Our fire personnel train on a continuous basis to ensure their ability to respond to emergencies with the township and handle them in a fast and efficient manner.
