Etape 1 : Cour du Musée St Loup - N°32 sur le plan ou N 48° 18.049 E 004°04.847’ : trouver la statue de « David tendant la fronde » réalisée en 18a7

Etape 2 : A proximité (N48°18.152’ E 004°05.009), au n°b bis de la rue des Célestins se trouve la maison du Dauphin (toute de jaune vêtue, elle est une des rares habitations antérieures à 1524, date où un incendie a ravagé plus de 1500 maisons de la ville).
Etape 3 : Rue de la Cité N 48°17.955’ E004°04.697 ou N° 30 plan O.T., vous devez trouver la pierre sur laquelle est inscrite 4 lettres (il s'agit d'un vestige du tour aux enfants trouvés datant du XVIIIè siècle, avant la Révolution. Ce système, sorte "d'armoire pivotante" permettait d'abandonner anonymement les nouveaux-nés indésirables et de réduire, par ce fait, le nombre d'infanticides). Si n = 14, trouver le chiffre correspondant à la première lettre de ce mot -NFA. Le résultat est égal à c.
Etape 4 : Place de la libération (N48°17.873 E004°04.709’), trouver le bâtiment de la Préfecture et plus particulièrement la date sur son fronton 189X. d = X – 6.
Etape 5 : Autour de l’église St Jean (n°1 sur le plan O.T. – N48°17.800’ E004°04.457’) se trouvait un cimetière. Une ordonnance du XY mars 17f6 mentionne un règlement (regardez l’inscription au dessus de vous). e = X + Y
Etape 6 : Eglise St Pantaléon (n°5 sur plan O.T. – N 48°17.676’ E 004°04.287’) abrite une soixantaine de sculptures et est en sorte un musée de la statuaire troyenne du XVIè siècle avec parmi elles des œuvres de Dominique le Florentin. A l’extérieur, découvrir une date sur le transept gauche à 15m en hauteur : 16g2.
Etape 7 : Place Jean Jaurès (N48°17.682’ E004°04.241’) est né le 5 juillet 18h2 Edouard Herriot, président du Conseil à 3 reprises, poste assimilé au chef du gouvernement durant les 3ème et 4ème républiques.
Etape 8 : Eglise St Nicolas (entièrement détruite en 1524, elle est reconstruite de style Renaissance. A visiter : le Sépulcre de 1530, un Christ à la colonne attribué à François Gentil…) N 48°17.640’ E 004°04.168’ ou n°8 sur plan O.T..
La date permettant de répondre à l’énigme correspond au rajout de contreforts réalisés à posteriori coté sud de l'édifice (troisième) : le i octobre 1X25. j = X – 6.

The “Champagne Cork”
The starting coordinates are those of the Tourist Office, located on Boulevard Carnot, from where you can obtain a map of the city (displayed on the front door).
Stage 1: Cour du Musée St Loup - N°32 on the map or N 48° 18.049 E 004°04.847’: find the statue of “David holding the sling”, which was made in 18a7.
(Closed on Mondays and some public holidays)
Stage 2: Nearby (N48°18.152’ E 004°05.009), at number b bis on Rue des Célestins, you will find the “Maison du Dauphin” (painted entirely in yellow, this is one of the rare residencies that dates back prior to 1524, when the city was ravaged by a fire, destroying more than 1,500 homes).
Stage 3: At Rue de la Cité N 48°17.955’ E004°04.697, or no. 30 on the Tourist Office map, you should find a stone bearing four letters (the remains of the lost children tower dating from the 18th century, before the Revolution. This system was like a "revolving door”, where parents could abandon unwanted newborns and reduce the number of infanticides). If n = 14, find the number that corresponds to the first letter of this word -NFA. The result is equal to c.

Stage 6: St Pantaléon church (no. 5 on the Tourist Office map - N 48°17.676’ E 004°04.287’) houses around 60 statues and is a sort of museum to Troyes sculpture of the 16th century. Its collection includes works by Domenico del Barbieri. Outside, look for a date on the left-hand transept, at a height of 15 metres: 16g2.
Stage 7: Place Jean Jaurès (N48°17.682’ E004°04.241’) was the birthplace, on 5th July 18h2, of Edouard Herriot, three-times President of the Council (a position similar to the head of government during the 3rd and 4th French Republics).
Stage 8: St Nicolas church (entirely destroyed in 1524 and rebuilt in the Renaissance style. Point of interest: the Sepulchre from 1530, a Christ on the column attributed to François Gentil, etc.) N 48°17.640’ E 004°04.168’ or no. 8 on the Tourist Office map.
The date you need to discover to solve the puzzle is the date on which the buttresses were later added on the south side of the building (third): i October 1X25. j = X – 6.
