*****NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES*****
If you want more information on Ham radio I would be glad to
provide it for you as would several other geocachers that are also
hams.
Morse code was the first practical mode of wireless communication.
Long before voice could be communicated over long distances it was
the mainstay on land and at sea.
A spark gap generator was used to transmit a morse code distress
signal from the sinking Titanic. A replica of this type of
transmitter can be seen at the Pavik Museum of Broadcasting in St.
Louis Park. You should check it out, it is a great museum.
When I first got my ham radio license learning morse code was
mandatory. Three different speeds along with technical questions
determined your license category and privileges. In these times the
requirements have been relaxed however to achieve the top license
you still need to prove you proficiency in Morse Code, know as CW
by Hams.
Don't be intimidated by the following passage and do not be
concerned about anything in the message other than the numbers of
the coordinates. Numbers have a rhythmic sound, I am confident that
if you try to pick out one number at a time you can solve the
puzzle.
I hope you enjoy and learn a little in the process de K0TLG
