toget.
lastbilens trailer fik store skader.
Kort før ulykken talte lokomotivføreren i mobiltelefon.
mobiltelefonsnak under kørsel," fortæller undersøgelsesleder Niels

Accidents:
Report
Pederstrup accident published

Accident
Commission has just published their account of what happened when a
train and a truck collided at a railway overkørsel by Pederstrup on
Fyn in February last year.
The truck had to make a hard
left turn and did not get out of the crossing before the beams and
flashers started, and one beam crashed into the roof of the truck
trailer.
Both the driver and his
assistant, who sat in another car, tried with gestures to stop the
train which was on its way, but if the driver saw them, he could
not manage to stop the train. He braked, but ran into the
truck.
A passenger on the train came
easier to damage. Both the train and the truck's
trailer had major damage.
Shortly before the accident the
driver was talking in mobile phone. It was authorized at
the time. After the accident, it was
forbidden for drivers to talk on the phone while they drive
train.
"The accident was the crucial
reason why we banned cell phone conversation while driving," says
study leader Niels Hansen from the DSB.
He adds
that the DSB agrees Accident Commission
statement.
