Montañón Negro, the natural monument
What you can see, is the volcanic cone, Montañón Negro (the black mountain) formed by "picon" or lapillis, which is the most recent dated eruption in Gran Canaria (XXXX years ago approximately). It was dated by analising a pine buried in it´s lava and discovered recently. The Montañón Negro volcano has been declared a Natural Monument and included in the Network of Protected Nature Espaces of the Canary Isands, because of its singular geologic value and for being a representative dormant volcano on Gran Canaria. This protected area also extends to the crater of Pinos de Galdar, which was created in the same period of eruptions, such as the alignment of cones which begins at the Montañón Negro and ends at Berrazales Crater. Its lava flowed down the Fontanales and la Virgen gorges up to Azuaje, producing the arid and rocky aspect we can see today.
From the top of Montañón Negro mountain (X.XXX metres), impressive wide views of the North-east side of Gran Canaria can be obtained, from the interior villages up to Gando point and Santa Brigida...etc.

Naturmerkmal des Schwarzen Berges
Hier kannst du den Vulkankegel des Schwarzen Berges sehen, der sich durch die schwarze Farbe des Lasursteines kennzeichnet und der das Erzeugnis der juengsten Eruption auf Gran Canaria (etwa vor XXXX Jahren) ist.
Dies hat man anhand der Analyse einer begrabenen Pinie, die vor kurzem entdeckt wurde, feststellen koennen. Man hat den Berg nicht nur wegen seines besonderen geologischen Wertes, sondern auch, weil er den Vulkanismus der Insel vertritt, zum Naturdenkmal erklaert; er bildet einen Teil des Netzes des kanarischen Naturschutzgebietes. Zu diesem Naturschutzgebiet -des Naturdenkmals des Schwarzen Berges- gehoert auch der Krater "Pinos de Galdar" (Caldera de los Pinos de Galdar), der in der gleichen Periode der juengsten Eruptionen entstanden ist und die den Vulkankegel, der vom Schwarzen Berg nach Berrazales führt, entstehen ließ. Seine Lava ueberflutete die Fontanales an die Virgen Schlucht bis nach Azuaje, und erzeugte dabei die trockene und felsige Landschaft, die wir heute sehen koennen.
Von dieser Hoehe aus (X.XXX Meter) hat man einen eindrucksvollen panoramischen Blick auf den ganzen Nordosten der Insel bis zur Landzunge von Gando und Santa Brigida... etc.

Seit dem 10. Juni 2019 kann wieder ein Logfoto als Besuchsbeweis gefordert werden, jedoch nicht als Ersatz für eine auf den geologischen Ort zugeschnittenen Aufgabe. Letztere ist immer zwingend erforderlich.
