Aurinkoenergiaratkaisu ainutlaatuinen Suomessa
Uimahallin energiaratkaisussa optimoidaan monen järjestelmän yhteiskäyttö. Suunnittelussa on kiinnitetty erityistä huomiota tilojen ja allasvesien energiansäästöön, energian talteenottoon sekä tapaan, jolla energia tuotetaan. Täysin uusina julkisten tilojen energiaratkaisuna uimahalliin on suunniteltu aurinkoenergiaa hyödyntävät aurinkopaneelit hallin sähköntuottoon ja aurinkokeräi¬met allasvesien lämmitykseen.
Pori on hankkeellaan edelläkävijä, sillä tuleva aurinkoenergiaratkaisu on maan ensimmäinen uimahalliin tehty aurinkoenergiainvestointi ja sellaisena merkittävä ympäristöteko.
Aurinkolämpökeräimillä tuotetaan uimahalliin energiaa 120 000 kWh, joka vastaa kuuden keski¬verto-omakotitalon vuoden lämmityskuluja ja kattaa 5 % uimahallin vuotuisesta lämmöntarpeesta. Aurinkosähköpaneelit tulevat tuottamaan noin 45 000 kWh eli 3 % rakennuksen kuluttamasta sähköstä.

In the 450th Jubilee meeting of Pori City Council on 8.3.2008, the decision was taken to build a new swimming pool complex in Pori. The inauguration of the pool complex is on the “Pori Day” of September 2011.
Unique solar energy solution for Finland
The energy solution for the swimming pool complex optimises the joint use of many systems. Special attention has been paid in the design to energy saving and recovery at the pool complex, and to the way in which the energy is produced. As a brand-new energy solution for public facilities, the design includes solar-powered panels to produce electricity for the complex and solar collectors to heat the pool water.
Solar heat collectors will generate 120 000 kWh of energy for the complex, corresponding to the annual heating costs of six average detached houses and covering 5 % of the annual heat requirements of the swimming pool complex. The solar panels will produce approximately 45 000 kWh or 3 % of the electricity consumed by the building.
